  1. Wow, much vicarious pleasure in this. That bird list is a fascinating combination of the familiar, the longed-for charismatics (sib.rubythroat) and the ID challenges (you did very well to separate all those flycatchers, grassbirds and babblers).

    I was thinking of doing a spring walk round Old Hall sometime soon. Any interest?

    1. Glad to have provided vicarious pleasure – recommend it first hand as well though! We did have a guide of course, so I didn’t have to struggle too much with all those grassbirds and babblers. Flycatchers on the whole were all very colourful, so no problems there. My favourites: great hornbill and orange-headed thrush.
